Yes, the sport of tennis has taken to the beach volleyball courts, with the use of a de-pressurized tennis ball and tennis rackets, the new sport is like playing tennis/badminton/beach volleyball…all at once!
Beach Tennis has been popular outside of the US for many years now, with the use of special paddles instead of tennis rackets. Here’re the highlights from the Beach Tennis World Championship 2007 to give you a flavor for the new sport.
Your Host is Jeff - Jeff picked up his first racket at age 8 and immediately fell in love with the sport. He played varsity tennis in high school and intramural in college and currently plays in USTA Sectional Tournaments. His passion for tennis was fully realized when he started teaching his now fiancee the sport he loves. Today Jeff is still an avid tennis player, an ETUA tennis official and teaches young kids and teens whenever he can.
