Maneuverability: High
Control: Medium
Power: High
Comfort: MediumIf you’re the type who wants to break your opponent without breaking the bank, this $119 racquet will put you in good spirits. Testers said the mid-plus frame had an excellent blend of power and control from the baseline for intermediates with medium to long swings. With head-light balance and light 10.3 ounce weight, the racquet is also designed to be maneuverable, which made it a hit at net. The Spirit has a suprisingly large sweet spot, and it quells bad vibes thanks to a soft thermoplastic that’s woven intothe handle’s graphite fibers. The oversize wasn’t as well received. Testers said it was very maneuverable, but they agreed that it offered too much power and not enough control. Others noted that the sweet spot was small for an oversize and that the frame vibrated on offcenter hits. The oversize sells for the same low price, but the mid-plus delivers more bang for your buck.

BOTTOM LINE
A good buy, the mid-plus will appeal to all-court intermediates.
