HOW IT TESTED:
The Dunlop M-Fil 600 is powerful, thanks to a stiff construction and oversize head. Players new to the game will find that this racquet gives them a head start, allowing them to get good depth on their shots. The M-Fil 600 will also assist those who have been around for a while but need to add some pop to their slower and more deliberate strokes. “Power was good,” an NTRP 4.0 playtester said. “Maybe too good.” He’s pointing out that this Dunlop can be hard to control when you take a big rip. But you won’t have trouble maneuvering it—it’s light and almost evenly balanced, which will improve the net assets of club doubles specialists. What’s with the name? “M-Fil” is shorthand for the multifilament fibers, in this case boron and fiberglass, that Dunlop uses in the head to enhance the frame’s feel. It’s a noble effort, because stiff racquets can be unforgiving. And, indeed, the M-Fil 600 is quite comfortable, playtesters said.

BOTTOM LINE:
Control could be better, but the maneuverability and power will help beginners pick up the game.
