Yonex V-Con 17 (Mid-Plus)Length: 27.5 in.
Weight: 10.3 oz.
Ideal Swing – Short: No
Ideal Swing – Medium: No
Ideal Swing – Long: Yes
Maneuverability: Medium
Control: High
Power: Low
Comfort: MediumMartina Hingis is one of the game’s great all-court players, and her new weapon of choice, the Yonex V-Con 17 100, complements that style of play. The racquet has the light weight (around 10 ounces) typically associated with an intermediate’s racquet, but it requires a long, hard swing to generate power. The V-Con 17 is maneuverable, and the control is top-notch. Testers also noted that the frame had excellent stability and virtually no bad vibes. The latter has to do with the racquet’s key technology, the Vibration Control Shaft (V-Con). At the throat, Yonex covers the graphite with a patented elastic material wrapped in a ceramic alloy to absorb shock. If Hingis’ 100-square-inch model doesn’t offer enough oomph, then try the slightly lighter, more head-heavy oversize. It’s suited for intermediate all-courters with medium-length swings.

BOTTOM LINE
Advanced all-courters will dig Hingis’ latest racquet.
