HOW IT TESTED:
When you pick up a Yonex frame that’s designed for advanced players, you expect two things. First, the racquet plays in the more flexible end of the stiffness spectrum. Second, you’re going to have to swing long and fast for power, which is a plus to many skilled players. The RQS-11 doesn’t deviate from this tradition. It’s got some flex, but the stabilizers in the thinned-out, surfboard-shaped shaft help keep the frame from wobbling on off-center hits. And while some of our highest-rated playtesters found ample power, most said they had to swing out to get pace and depth. But those concerns were mitigated by the RQS-11’s control and sizable sweet spot, which earned it high praise from baseliners. Net-rushers weren’t as complimentary, as they felt the RQS-11 wasn’t responsive enough in returning well-struck passing shots. A few playtesters said that they preferred the racquet more the second time they used it, so don’t rush to judgement—it may be an acquired taste.

BOTTOM LINE:
Made for talented junior baseline grinders or club veterans with full confidence in their strokes and timing.
