FIRST TAKE:
Think of this advanced-player’s model as magnet therapy for your racquet. When you hit a ball, both sides of a racquet head slightly deform and bow toward each other. Fischer claims that by placing electromagnets that repel each other at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions of the head, it will return to its original position more forcefully and catapult the ball for more power. Does it work?

HOW IT TESTED:
While it’s tough to tell what effect, if any, the magnets have, this much we noticed: The M Pro No. 1 puts a slight charge into your shots if you have a long, fast swing. You may also notice the unique beam shape. Whereas most frames have side walls of equal measure, or ones that get thicker as you move from the head toward the handle, this model is fatter in the head and skinnier in the throat. The tapered design gives the racquet a whippy feel, which appealed most to power baseliners who hit with lots of topspin and play the angles. At net, playtesters said that maneuverability was excellent, but they struggled to consistently stick their volleys, perhaps because the frame is so flexible in the throat.

BOTTOM LINE:
Not ideal for serve-and-volleyers but excellent for scrappy baseliners who want a little more pop.
